Development of a vital accessory for the molecular laboratory diagnostics system Vivalytic.
____
In this project, I was responsible for the development of a vital accessory for the molecular laboratory diagnostics system called Vivalytic. The Vivalytic platform is an all-in-one solution for molecular diagnostics that is designed as a stand-alone solution for rapid point-of-care testing using cartridges without sample preparation.
However, the Vivalytic analyzer is not designed to be used in multi-slot setups, so I designed a flexible upscaling solution that required the development of a hardware accessory and software adjustments.
Due to the thermal and vibration-sensitive measurement processes of the Vivalytic analyzer, the hardware development underwent multiple iterations and stress tests. We began with simple wood constructions and moved on to 3D milled MDF forms and 3D-printed modules for MVP testing. The final series model was produced using a plastics-aluminum compound 3D printing method.
I was the industrial design lead on a multidisciplinary agile team that developed the new product from engineering to marketing.
I worked closely with UI design and engineering to bring this innovative product to life. The resulting accessory allows the Vivalytic analyzer to be used in multi-slot setups, making it an even more versatile and valuable tool for molecular diagnostics.
